Unmanned systems technology is quickly migrating from its initial military roots into the public and private sectors. And India is emerging as a major market from the global perspective. Johnnette is organising its second edition of Unmanned Systems Conference & Exhibition India 2014 from 18-19 Nov 2014 at Air Force Auditorium, New Delhi. The objective of the event is to mainly focus on employment of potential unmanned systems in India including combat air vehicles, mini and micro UAVs and other payloads in surveillance, EOD, EW, Weapons and Target systems. The event will also provide interactive session between manufacturers and end users on unmanned systems from various levels in the country.
ATI’s Sonar & Acoustics Technical Training
Acoustics Fundamentals, Measurements & Applications
This three-day course is intended for engineers and other technical personnel and managers who have a work-related need to understand basic acoustics concepts and how to measure and analyze sound. This is an introductory course and participants need not have any prior knowledge of sound or vibration. Each topic is illustrated by relevant applications, in-class demonstrations, and worked-out numerical examples. Since the practical uses of acoustics principles are vast and diverse, participants are encouraged to confer with the instructor (before, during, and after the course) regarding any work-related concerns. Three customized versions of this course are available that emphasize respectively (1. Underwater Acoustics, 2. In-Air Acoustics 3. A broad mix of all acoustic applications tailored to the customer’s need or the majority of class attendees’ interests). Onsite courses are fully customized to the customer’s applications.
PLOCAN is an initiative committed with both its adjoining socioeconomic environment and the international excellence in science and technology. Hence, it promotes this call which is oriented towards university students in the marine-maritime and technological scopes, as well as technicians/ professionals of the sector. The objective is to train them in theoretical and practical abilities and skills concerning underwater vehicles, as gliders.
The selection period will be open from Tuesday 7th of January to 30th of September 2014, both inclusive. School will last for a whole week, from November 17th to 22th, 2014 and on a daily schedule from 8.30 to 18.00 hours.

National Institute of Ocean Technology, Chennai, India
Sustainable Technology Development for Ocean
National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) was established during 1993 as an autonomous society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The mandate of NIOT is to develop reliable indigenous technologies to solve the various engineering problems associated with harvesting of non-living and living resources in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Also to provide competitive, value added technical services and solutions to develop a knowledge base and institutional capabilities in India for management of ocean resources and environment.
The symposium is being organized by IEEE/OES, IEEE/OES Japan Chapter and IEEE/OES India Council. The vision for this symposium is to provide a thematic umbrella for the researchers working in underwater systems across world to discuss the problems and potential long term solutions that concern not only the Indian Ocean regional countries, but the world ocean in general.
THEMES OF THE SYMPOSIUM
The symposium consists of keynote talks, double-track technical sessions and poster sessions. It will feature advanced underwater technology and its applications.
Topics for oral and poster presentation are:

Ocean Business is an international ocean technology exhibition and training forum expecting to attract more than 4000 visitors from over 60 countries. Ocean Business 2015 will take place at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, Hampshire. The Ocean Business exhibition attracts over 300 companies representing the world’s leading ocean technology suppliers and service providers and it runs alongside a three-day programme of hands-on training and demonstration workshops, both dockside and at sea, enabling buyers to test drive equipment before buying. In addition, Ocean Business offers Offshore Survey, a two day conference addressing the technical and business issues facing the global field of offshore surveying and Ocean Careers, a three day event providing advice on career opportunities within the ocean technology, marine science and offshore industries.
Open and coastal oceans are key areas to comprehensive understanding of our planet, from large scale events such as El Nino, hurricane formation and tracking, to long term events such as global climate change, to short term weather predictions of both the atmosphere and the ocean. They are also very important in defense and security applications. This conference is intended to cover the R&D efforts in the ocean and lake sensing community to provide better solutions to the overall science, industry, as well as defense and security market by addressing current technology and environmental limitations, system decision, and implementation issues, as well as new technology that may be applied to ocean sensing problems. Specifically, these include topics associated with in situ and remote monitoring of the ocean surface, water column, deep sea, bathymetric and benthic features, impacts on sensor performance and calibration, data assimilation, and forecasting.
With more than 8,000 attendees and 550+ exhibitors from more than 40 countries, AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems is recognized as the leading event for the unmanned systems marketplace.
Jointly sponsored by the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES), the Oceans’15 Conference and Exhibit is the major international forum gathering scientists, engineers, responsible ocean users and decision makers to present their cutting-edge research results, ideas, and applications in Oceanic Engineering and Marine Technology. The exchange of knowledge and the opportunities offered to new fruitful collaborations are crucial to the development of innovative technologies to meet the Blue Growth Challenge: harness the huge potential of the world-wide oceans for jobs and growth in a sustainable, environmentally conscious, and responsible way.
Attendees will be immersed in the latest information from the exciting world of underwater autonomy. Through interactive workshops, informative panel discussions and product demonstrations, existing users of Kongsberg and Hydroid vehicles will have the opportunity to share their experience and knowledge to optimize their vehicle operations and non-users will learn first-hand about the capabilities and applications of AUV technology.
