The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), in support of the Program Executive Office Littoral Combat Ships (PEO LCS) Unmanned Maritime Systems Program Office (PMS 406), intends to make the Maritime Open Architecture Autonomy (MOAA) software product available to the US DoD developer community beginning in 2012. MOAA is an Autonomous Controller software product developed for the US Government by the Charles Stark Draper Lab (Draper Lab) under a Navy contract. MOAA capabilities have been demonstrated at-sea on several autonomous undersea vehicle (AUV) classes with capabilities applicable to various undersea mission areas.
To help inform the potential US DoD Contractor MOAA user base, the Navy plans to hold a MOAA Industry Day at the Kossiakoff Center, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, Laurel, MD, 20723 on 14 Sept 2012.
A Special Notice announcing the MOAA Industry Day was posted on FedBizOpps.gov on 11 July 2012 (Solicitation Number ). Information concerning the MOAA software, Industry Day and registration may be obtained from the Special Notice.
Companies interested in attending the MOAA Industry Day and/or in gaining access to the MOAA software and training materials should respond by contacting the NUWC Technology Partnerships Office, Bldg 102T, 1176 Howell St, Newport RI 02841; fax number 401-862-6033 or e-mail address: NUWC_NPT_TPEO@navy.mil and providing company name, physical and mailing addresses and website addresses; company POC name and contact information; the state in which the company is incorporated; company Cage Code; facility/POC security clearance level; information on past, current or potential applicable Navy UUV Programs the company is performing on; and the names and contact information for up to four (4) attendees, if participating in the MOAA Industry Day.
