Summary
A Hybrid AUV/ROV concept for deploying a standard work ROV on a deepwater subsea field for IRM activities without the requirement for a DP ROV support vessel.
An ROV power and control umbilical is integrated between the surface facility (e.g. FPSO) and the subsea site. The SWIMMER AUV transports the WorkROV to the subsea site and connects the ROV to the ROV power and control umbilical at the subsea location.
The ROV can now be operated from the surface facility “like a normal ROV” for inspection, maintenance and repair works.
