The vehicle is driven by changes of buoyancy, resulting in very high endurance at low speed and stealth actuation. An optional thruster allows more conventional “AUV” dives when required.
The modular design allow fast and easy change of the payload by just changing the vehicle nose assembly. The payload are a offers large volumes in a wet and a hyperbaric section. The vehicle glides without wings, facilitating launch and recovery operations and limiting strangling.
A networked hardware and software suite allows constant supervision and mission control of the vehicle from any where on the internet by using a server 4h/24 available for vehicles calls. Optimized sleeping mode of both navigation & payload sensors offers very long endurance.
SeaExplorer is the first underwater glider tracked and supervised by acoustic buoys. This glider does not only rely on surface position updates and can be controlled using an acoustic modem integrated in the buoy.
