Required skills-

•B.S. degree or higher in technical disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math or Cognitive Science 
•Candidate must have either job experience or strong academic concentration (e.g. Master’s thesis) in developing and implementing algorithms for unmanned vehicle or robotic autonomous control

•Candidate must have hands-on experience with programming, configuring, and integration and testing of robotic vehicles and associated systems (interfaces, sensors, etc.)

•Technology experience with one of the following: path planning; robot guidance, navigation, and control; robotic behavior control 
•Strong programming skills in C++

•Experience in a systematic object-oriented software development, demonstrated via school or job-based project work

•Strong oral and written communication skills

•Strong teamwork skills, demonstrated via academic or job-based project work

•Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Specific Job Description- 
Working as part of a team of engineers, the Intelligent Robotics Engineer will create robotic systems that embody emerging technological principles in robotics and related domains, applied to a growing collection of R&D contracts and internal projects in ATL’s Intelligent Robotics Lab. Work will generally require hands-on operation both in the lab and in the field with a variety of robotic vehicles including ground, sea, underwater, and air. Research efforts in intelligent robotics include autonomous control of unmanned vehicles and robots, collaborative and teamed operations of unmanned vehicles, human interaction with unmanned vehicles and robots, and perception. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of creative and innovative problem solving, and will be a confident and motivated individual with an entrepreneurial nature who enjoys seeking out new challenges. This is an engineering position reporting directly to an Intelligent Robotics Laboratory first-level manager.
